Task: sdc-dept-scaffold-mbr-absorb (Rock #2, closed 2026-08-28). Follow-on of SDC/Logs/Decisions/2026-08-27_ReFocus-to-SDC.md.

What changed

Section titled “What changed”

5 dept charters written — SDC/Strategy, SDC/Offerings, SDC/IT, SDC/Mktg (+ Content, Viral-Growth sub-depts), SDC/Risks, modelled on MBR/<Dept>/JOB_DESCRIPTION.md. Risks carries Talbot’s core constraint verbatim: forcing/coercive behavioural mechanisms only for zero/negative-risk strategies (Better Rates); objective client-first advising only where risk is magnified. Registered in Agent-Team.md’s new SDC section, linked from SDC/DASHBOARD.md. SDC/Strategy/Staff/CEO.md created (needed once Agent-Team.md’s bare [CEO](/strategy/staff/ceo/) link became ambiguous against MBR’s).

MBR transferables absorbed into SDC homes:

  • Investment-Debt-Providers.md research → SDC/Strategy/Research/
  • Advisor-Firm-Pricing.md (from Revenue-Models.md’s B2B tiers) → SDC/Offerings/
  • Affiliate-Compliance.md (from Affiliate-Mechanics.md’s compliance half) → SDC/Risks/ — flags that SDC targets U.S. advisors while the source guardrails are Canadian (FCAC/PIPEDA); U.S. equivalents unresearched
  • Viral-Growth-Concept.md → SDC/Mktg/Viral-Growth/Notes/, re-aimed at advisors rather than consumers
  • New Better-Rates-Strategy.md in SDC/Strategy/
  • Filter+Focus.md ported (structure only — a first-pass draft, not MBR’s full brainstormed list)
  • Progress Acceleration.md shortened to the MBR shape (the one duplicate pair Claude owned)
  • WealthCare50 — correctly left parked in MBR, no action

Wikilink sweep: path-prefixed every bare link made ambiguous by new same-name files (CEO.md, Filter+Focus.md, Progress Acceleration.md now exist in both MBR and SDC). Fixed a pre-existing broken Core/Glossary/Cancer50Pledge link (real target: Core/Misc/Glossary.md#Cancer50Pledge) before it propagated into the new SDC CEO.md. /audit-kb-os run scoped to the change set — clean (Core/Processes/Projects/KB-OS/audits/kb-os-audit-2026-08-27.md).

Spun out on close (2026-08-28):

  • sdc-strategy-duplicate-pairs-reconcile — the 20 duplicate-name Strategy/ pairs, Talbot’s own call (focus: 3_later)
  • sdc-strategy-filter-focus-brainstorm — Dynalist extraction + real ranking pass to replace the first-pass Filter+Focus draft
  • sdc-risks-us-compliance-research — SEC/FINRA/state research to replace the Canadian-precedent guardrails, focus: 5_someday, opus

Gotchas

Section titled “Gotchas”
  • Cross-session file convergence: the parallel sdc-levpro-sdmath-complete session had already moved Investment-Debt-Providers.md to the same destination before this task got to it (commit 2ce1cca). No data lost — git mv on top was a no-op — but worth checking git log at a destination path before assuming a stray duplicate means corruption. Full lesson: Core/Processes/Projects/KB-OS/LESSONS.md.
  • Core/DASHBOARD.md has no dept-map table of its own — the actual dept roster lives in Agent-Team.md. AGENTS.md’s dept→charter table is Core-dept-only by its own governing text, so SDC depts don’t belong there.
