Brainstorm Upgrade
Section titled “Brainstorm Upgrade”Background
Section titled “Background”D:\FSS\KB\SDC\Strategy\Research\SDC-Strategy-Brainstorming_ChatGPT.mdIs a verbatim transcript of a brainstorming session with ChatGPT on innovating education and implementation ideas for my smart debt coach mission.- Opus used for deep thinking upgrades, suggestions
- Review entire brainstorming session with ChatGPT carefully.
- Review the ever evolving KB focused on SDC business (
d:\FSS\KB\SDC\), especially Strategy and how to progress towards my SDC Mission and Cancer50PPledge. - With your deepest thinking planning mode, suggest any brainstorming upgrades that can be added. ChatGPT did not have the SDC knowledge base context that you have access to.
- Based on your deeper understanding of my mission, goals, weaknesses, opportunities, and more, suggest a prioritized filtered and focused high-level strategic plan to move forward, in phases.
- Upgrading/replacing
d:\FSS\KB\SDC\Strategy\Strategic Plan.mdwithd:\FSS\KB\SDC\Strategy\Strategic-Plan.md
- Upgrading/replacing
- Then identify several high-impact development or research tasks that can be done almost 100% autonomously in the next few days, aiming again to use up my $110 usage credit.
- Artifact(s): Task note(s) in whatever SDC Tasks folder is appropriate
Claude Response — 2026-09-06
Section titled “Claude Response — 2026-09-06”Summary
- Read the full 6,973-line ChatGPT transcript and the SDC knowledge base — Strategy (all 13 root docs), Identity + all 8 Internal View files, IP, Offerings, Mktg, Risks, and IT charters, the CONSTITUTION, the rocks table, and the open-task tracker.
- Brainstorming upgrades written → SDC-Strategy-Brainstorming-Upgrades (
SDC/Strategy/Research/). Eight upgrades, each anchored to a recorded KB fact ChatGPT could not see, plus four transcript ideas genuinely new to the KB that should be absorbed. The transcript itself is untouched — you asked for it verbatim, so this is a sibling note. - Strategic Plan v2.0 written → Strategic-Plan. Positioning spine unchanged; what was missing is now there — phases, gates, kill criteria, and a Not-Doing list. Old
Strategic Plan.mdretired, all 11 references across 7 files swept to the new name in the same pass. - Three high-impact near-autonomous tasks created or promoted (details below).
- Premise correction — the
$110credits. Verified 2026-08-31 and recorded in memory: those are Anthropic Console/API credits, a separate pool. This Claude Code session authenticates via Pro subscription OAuth (billingType = stripe_subscription, noANTHROPIC_API_KEYin the environment) and bills the subscription’s usage limits — it has never drawn on that balance, and cannot unless a session is deliberately run with an API key. Nothing below is scoped around the credits; “work that runs near-unattended” is a good filter regardless of which pool pays for it.
The three upgrades that most change the plan
- The hardest thing in the transcript is already built. ChatGPT scoped F.A.S.T.T. micro-apps as future work. The LevPro port closed 2026-09-01 — 3 strategies, 13 provinces, PDF parity, 416 tests green. Phase 1 is not “build the engine”; it is “the engine is invisible to every advisor on earth.”
- The Trust Receipt is a packaging job. The transcript’s marquee trust idea maps almost exactly onto the M5 audit artifacts already on disk (
accuracy-audit.md, the independent re-derivation tool, the VB6 cross-check, the PDF-parity diff). Cheapest high-credibility differentiator available, and it needs no credentials. - FinMax already ran the transcript’s institutional arc, and it failed.
Experience.md: verbal interest from several national banks, built to completion, adoption never happened — with your own recorded lesson that verbal interest is not sufficient; need written commitment and/or financial investment. The plan therefore gates every enterprise layer on a signature, and puts a 90-day kill criterion on “one advisor pays.”
The sharpest thing I found, which is not in the transcript at all
The engine is Canadian; the stated market is American. sd-math models 13 provinces with Quebec divergence and an RRSP catch-up loan; sdc-sdapp-deploy-miniapp already recorded that sd-app was CA-only all along and that U.S. support is real, separate, unstarted scope. Meanwhile the Inner Circle you would validate with — Rob, Dave, Robert, Ed — are Canadian advisors. So Phases 0→2 as written ship, differentiate and validate a Canadian tool with Canadian advisors under a Focus statement that says ~100% U.S.
The plan takes that path deliberately — validate the mechanism where the tool already works, defer U.S. localization to Phase 3 rather than build U.S. tax logic before knowing anyone will pay — but it now says so out loud, in the asset table, in a warning box on Phase 2, and as Open Decision #4. Left implicit, it is the thing most likely to be quietly wrong.
Two more I could not decide for you: the transcript’s strongest arc (open commons, community, individual premium) is substantially direct-to-investor, conflicting with your recorded 2026-08-27 decision of ~100% advisor / ~0% investor — the plan assumes advisor-first (Open Decision #1); and the WealthCare50 question (Open Decision #2).
Tasks created (all three pass the “needs no Talbot decision or credential to close” filter)
| Task | Where | Why it earns the slot |
|---|---|---|
| sdc-sdapp-trust-receipt | SDC/IT/Tasks/ | Highest value per hour in the plan. Retrofits existing verified artifacts into a visible trust panel in the app and PDF reports. Not blocked by Cloudflare or Stripe. |
| sdc-strategy-library-v01 | SDC/Strategy/Tasks/ | The knowledge layer everything else navigates. 20–30 debt strategies, standard schema, sorted first by risk — drafted only from sources that exist, with unverified — needs Talbot where they don’t. |
| sdc-risks-us-compliance-research | SDC/Risks/Tasks/ | Already existed at 5_someday. Recommended for promotion to 1_now — with go-live imminent it gates every advisor-facing output. I left the focus: field alone; that’s your call, recorded in the file. |
Also already startable and genuinely autonomous: sdc-behavioural-solutions-debt (status: ready, Opus) — its risk-tier framework is what Rule 1 of the new plan depends on.
Housekeeping
- The rename resolved the
Strategic Plan.mdSDC/MBR filename collision — one of the 20 open pairs in sdc-strategy-duplicate-pairs-reconcile, now ticked with the residual content question left open for you. - The task’s frontmatter already read
status: activewith no prior## Claude Response, so this was treated as a genuine first session — noted rather than blocking on it. - One convention divergence to flag:
Core/Processes/Projects/KB-OS/Ongoing-Projects.mddocumentsStrategic Plan.mdas the cross-business filename convention. SDC now usesStrategic-Plan.md; MBR still uses the spaced name. Deliberately not changed — a cross-business convention edit is a KB-OS decision, not a Strategy one. - v1 content preserved, verified by diff against the retired file — not assumed. The
## Constraintssection (modest travel, minimal outbound, inbound thought-leadership, solopreneur, no urgency) is restored in full and now carries its strategic consequences; the publicsmartdebt-mission.htmlandfocus.htmllinks are back at the top with a note that both now lag this document; the offering list is dropped only because v2 points at Smart Debt Offerings, which is the Offerings dept’s SSOT. Filter+Focus.md’s “Phase A → B (Now)” list was stale — it still named the completed LevPro port and dept scaffold as next actions. Reconciled against the new phase order in the same pass, since the plan names that file as the operational ranking layer.Core/DASHBOARD.mdRock #1 points at a deleted file (sdc-sdapp-full-levpro-port.md, closed 2026-09-01, file deleted). Out of scope for a Strategy task to re-rank a cross-business table — flagged below.
Next Steps for Talbot
- Approve, revise, or reject Strategic-Plan v2.0 — it is
status: draft. The one line that can actually stop work is Phase 2’s kill criterion: 90 days from a working demo to one paying advisor, or stop and re-run Filter+Focus. * - Open Decision #1 — does the open-knowledge layer re-open a direct-to-investor path? The plan assumes no (free published Library, no consumer product, no community). Confirm or overrule. *
- Open Decision #2 — re-open WealthCare50 for dealerships/lenders/money managers? Mktg parked the employer/CSR version as off-ICP, correctly — but that park never tested the in-ICP variant the transcript proposes. *
- Open Decision #4 — does Phase 2 validate in Canada or the U.S.? The plan says Canada first (the engine is Canadian, the Inner Circle is Canadian, U.S. localization moves to Phase 3). The alternative is a U.S.-localization workstream inside Phase 1. This is the plan’s sharpest internal tension — please rule on it explicitly rather than letting the phase order imply it. *
- Promote
sdc-risks-us-compliance-researchto1_now? You set it to5_somedayon 2026-08-28; the new plan argues it now gates Phase 1. Your call. * - The two go-live blockers, unchanged and still only yours: Cloudflare Pages project, and the Stripe account plus its three keys. *
- F.A.S.T.T. in
~/ai-config/— thedesign-contextskill still teaches four-letter F.A.S.T. I will add the fifth term to the vault glossary inside the Library task, but the ai-config edit deploys globally, so it needs your go-ahead. * - Re-rank
Core/DASHBOARD.md’s Biggest Rocks — last refreshed 2026-08-27, and Rock #1’s SSOT path points at a task file deleted on 2026-09-01. Once the plan is approved its Phase 0/1 order is the correct replacement; say the word and I’ll apply it (or run/filter-focus-refresh). *
Path to Completion
Section titled “Path to Completion”Review it: Strategic-Plan and SDC-Strategy-Brainstorming-Upgrades — read the Upgrades note first (it is the evidence), then the Plan (it is the decision). Both in SDC/Strategy/; Windows paths `D:\FSS\KB\SDC\Strategy\Strategic-Plan.md` and `D:\FSS\KB\SDC\Strategy\Research\SDC-Strategy-Brainstorming-Upgrades.md`. The two sections worth arguing with are the Not-Doing list and Phase 2’s kill criterion.
Project SSOT: Strategic-Plan — strategy SSOT, supersedes the retired Strategic Plan.md · Filter+Focus — ranked rocks + decision log · oversight SSOT: Strategic-Plan
Now: /task-continue Brainstorm-upgrade-CC
Run it after you have answered the six Next Steps above — the plan’s status flips from draft to approved (or gets revised) and the two Open Decisions get written into the Filter+Focus decision log.
Then, in order:
/task-complete Brainstorm-upgrade-CC— closes this thread once the plan is approved./task-start /mnt/d/FSS/KB/SDC/IT/Tasks/sdc-sdapp-trust-receipt.md— Phase 1a. Runs unattended, needs no credentials, produces the differentiator./task-start /mnt/d/FSS/KB/SDC/Strategy/Tasks/sdc-strategy-library-v01.md— Phase 1b. Can run in parallel with the above; different files, no collision./task-continue sdc-sdapp-deploy-miniapp— the moment Cloudflare and Stripe exist, this is what makes Phase 0 real.
Related open tasks (parallel work, not choices):

Blocked on you (no command fixes these):
- Approval of the plan, and the two Open Decisions — nothing in Phase 1 is wrong without them, but Phase 2 and 3 are unresolvable
- Cloudflare Pages project + Stripe account and its three keys
- The
~/ai-config/F.A.S.T.T. edit — globally deploying, so CEO-gated
Done when: Strategic-Plan is no longer status: draft, the two Open Decisions are recorded in Filter+Focus.md’s decision log, and at least one of the two new Phase-1 tasks has been started.
